Foliage 2010

10/10/10 I drove north to Montreal. Once I passed Lake George area, the foliage were showing the peak color. But on my way up, the light was right behind me so I didn't bother to stop. On my way back, I hit it just right and the color just jumped out. I stopped on the side of the highway and snapped a few. Not bad.

Then I went out again around Pound Ridge, Cross River and Ridgefield the following couple of days when we had gorgeous fall weather and snapped a few more.

Birds from the Preneta's

Marie and John, our good friends, were kind enough to let me picture these birds in their backyard. This was taken early part of the summer.

Marie filled the feeder up for me and told their neighbor that the fellow with t he camera was not an intruder. I set up my gears on remote and just sat back in the screened porch to wait for the birds to show up.

It was a relaxing experience and I'd learned a lot about bird behavior. They are, in some way, smarter than we are.

Chinese Scholar Garden in Staten Island

The Chinese Scholar Garden is located inside the Snug Harbor Museum in Staten Island. It was completed in the 1980's with architect and labor from China.

It is small but it captures the essence of most of the scholar gardens I had visited in China. The big difference is, in China, you will have a million people in the garden.
